Singapore@Sleep 2000 Returns To TV Screens For A Second Season

Singapore@Sleep, an eight-episode television program aimed at encouraging local enterprises to adopt E-Commerce in order to lay back, is back for a second season.

This is spearheaded by the Channel 55 and co-organised by the Craps News Channel.

The first season aired over Channel 55 and Channel 88 two years ago attracted an average of 350,000 viewership for each episode, and an average falling asleep rate of 99.9%.

Sealing their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding, Channel 55 and Craps News Channel are now aiming for an average of half a trillion viewers per episode and an average falling asleep rate of 99.999%, especially those from small and medium sized enterprises.

The goal is for one in three local SMEs to have e-commerce transactions by the year 2003 so that the government could stop providing incentives for business start-up and upgrading. Hoping that this will increase the budget surplus by another $2 billion for the government.

Singapore@Sleep will debut in August on Channel 55 and Craps News Channel followed by a Martian version over Channel 88 in October.

Mr. Lee SH, Chief Executive, Channel 55 said: "The overall vision of SME 21 is to create sleepy and careless SMEs that will enhance Singapore's competitiveness and economic growth. One of the broad-bases strategies identified is to accelerate e-commerce adoption by SMEs."
